Thank you volunteers
« on: November 12, 2018, 08:44:05 PM »
I would like to thank everyone involved in the planning and execution of Free Play Florida 2018. Thank you Bill, Brian, Marcy and Brandon for your hard work and all of the other volunteers who made FPF a great success. I would especially like to thank the two younger guys who helped me unload my trailer when I arrived on Thursday. I am sorry I didn't get your names. I know it seems like all you hear are the problems, but you all did a great job and I wanted you all to know it was very much appreciated. You have a great staff of volunteers and you should be proud of the 2018 version of the show. Thank you, NOW GET SOME REST.

I believe that was Cloud2Ground (Don) and Briefcase (Matthew )

Besides Brian, Marcy, and Brandon, I would like to include:

Matthew ( Briefcase )  ~ AV and Load In/Out (  he hides in the AV room )
Chris ( Bart1025 ) ~ Crazy Ideas Guy , Late Night Party, etc.
Mark ( Yodergames )  ~ Awesome "Sky Latterns", and Stranger THings Area
Shaun ( WiskeyTangoFoxtrot ) ~ Helped Maintained order in the Pinball Tournament Room.
Jack (Number Six) ~ Kept the Consoles playing.
Alex ( Not a villager )  ~ kept the front desk running
Danielle ( Number Six's Wife) ~ Assisted Alex at the front desk
Jenn( Yodergame's wife )  ~ Assisted Alex at the front desk
Kelly ( Not a villager, - Tampa Bay Area Pinball/Arcade Tech )  ~ fixed major issues on games.

This list can keep going, but mostly i would like to thank the 50+ people who supplied games to the show, without you, we wouldn't be able to have an awesome show... I think of it as a "Car Show" for Arcade Collectors :)

I fix things.. all the things.. but you have reach out first to see how my queue looks. ( all things arcade/pinball/computer ) ... do not do house calls, repairs are generally live streamed on twitch.

Thank you all for making this show happen!

I also want give special thanks to whiskeytangofoxtrot.  The tourney area can be viscous and thankless, because tensions are high, especially at that level of play. Things are going to go wrong, and he, Dan and many others helping out did a great job keeping everything going smoothly.

Also shout out to everyone who supplied games for the tourney.  It is asking a lot to make sure a game holds up for tourney play for 3 days straight.

Looking forward to FPF 2019 !

Thanks Bill for filling in the rest. I know there was a bunch I was missing. You all deserve a round of applause.

Big thanks to Kelly! That guy is awesome!
He was fixing none stop, very friendly and laughing. Helpful as can be. He is a really great guy and seemed to make it a point to check in with me everytime he saw me. Hope to see him there next year. I watched him send hours fixing Q Bert pinball.

I also watched Marcy attempt to kick out a Drunk man on the first night. She handled it very well but I was still laughing.

That was fun..

One of the bigger volunteers and I herded him out of the show floor and to Marcy & hotel security. He could barely walk.

Aww man I missed that.

We were drinking beer most of the day in the console area but sadly did not need to be escorted out.

That's a goal for next year though.
