What do you guys mean by rogue like games?
Rogue-like means it's a game like Rogue.

Easier to understand if you're familiar with the old (classic) computer game Rogue.
It was a very early RPG and the map is generated procedurally and randomized.
It's a turn-based, overhead view game. Early versions didn't even have graphics, monsters were just represented by letters - T was a troll, V was a vampire, etc.
It's very hard, you're not intended to win 99% of the time, the random elements can give you great advantages - like finding a room full of treasure early on, a really good weapon or enchant, etc.
or it can screw you, but generating a high-level monster at a much lower level than usual, etc.
It's also a short game, you're expected to play through multiple times - many, many "runs" at the game. When you die you start over at square one.
Rogue-likes are similar to Rogue in some way. Nuclear Throne for instance is a different genre - overhead-view action game rather than turn-based RPG. However the levels, monsters, loot, etc. are still procedural generated, it has "permadeath", there's a lot of different loot to find, etc.
Then there's also Rogue-lites - those are games similar to Rogue in some ways, but usually in those you get to keep some of the stuff (gold, weapons, other loot) you found in one run and use it in the next. Generally a little easier and more forgiving.
