How to prevent peeling art blades?

Just got a brand new BK LE and I’m trying to prevent what always happens to factory art-blades and that is peeling due to lifting and lowering the playfeild. Wondering if anyone has come up with a way to prevent it. Clear coat, glue, tape? Just trying to keep the game mint and was curious about options. Thanks in advance!

Best way is not to raise and lower the pf every day.  I only do that when something has fallen off and needs attention, otherwise I keep the game closed and locked.  Are you showing the insides off for tours everyday or   Once a new game gets set up, it shouldn't need service inside for at least a year, if surface is cleaned as needed and not neglected.  If you must raise it, and you don't want to take a chance of damage, try a thin sheet of scrap formica on each side and remove after servicing.  Any good cabinet shop will have plenty of scraps laying around.

art blades aren't always art blades. stern has thick artwork for their blades compared to the stuff made early on for ballys and other examples.

i just pulled some art blades off a HEAVILY routed ghostbusters. they did not want to come off after years in use.

i had issues with my totan art blades on 1 side when i installed them years ago. like bob ross would advise, i added some puffy little clouds.

the mirror blades get scratched pretty easily, but i haven't seen art blade issues. you can felt the side of the playfield, but not worth the effort.

for piece of mind, remove the playfield and have the inside of the cabinet clear coated by an automotive body shop. problem is now, you're going to show that off every hour.

I've used them on a variety of machines and I don't see why not.

So I guess they are clear when installed. The pictures all show them as white.
Plus I played K1N6's Black Knight LE, it's is bad ass and stunning, everyone should own one lol

I don't think you install them, you put them on the sides before you lift the pf and remove them when you're done. Am I right Mr WTF?

Correct. They’re used when you want to open a game that has art or mirror blades and are not a permanent install. There are art blade protectors but they’re meant for SPIKE games.
