First mod: A magnifying glass to see the monitor!

I personally loved the smaller Spiderman game and was really on the fence about getting one. But the screen on this one! Jack's stream makes it look like everything is so crisp and bright, but how will players see their scores in a multiplayer game? The screen layout is way too much like the full-size game, but the full-size display is at least twice as large. At least with the smaller Spiderman the numbers and text were large enough to fill the display.

I am serious. The first mod should be a thin LCD screen that replaces the translite. We know it's Star Wars. Let's make those video clips pop! (I think they did a great job with the videos and everything here. The game itself looks fun and challenging.)

Stern Pinball Announces New Star Warsâ„¢ Pinâ„¢ - Affordable Pinball Machine for the Home

CHICAGO, IL – July 18, 2019 – Stern Pinball, Inc., a global lifestyle brand based on the iconic and outrageously fun modern American game of pinball, announced today the Star Wars™ Pin™, a new stylish, affordable and fun pinball machine designed and engineered for the home.

Stern’s new Star Wars™ Pin™ immerses players in the dynamic Star Wars™ galaxy. The Pin™ is packed with features that provide players with an irresistible game experience including select speech and footage from the original Star Wars™ trilogy, color-changing playfield inserts, a custom sculpted Death Star, and a custom sculpted and interactive TIE fighter.

The easy to setup Star Warsâ„¢ Pinâ„¢ is built to last and engineered with genuine Stern commercial-quality parts. The playfield is housed in a stylish cabinet with dynamic, high definition artwork. The all-LED playfield lighting provides optimal color and brilliant light shows.

“The Star Wars™ Pin™ is designed to provide quality family entertainment and bring pinball fun to homes everywhere,” said Gary Stern, Chairman and CEO of Stern Pinball, Inc. “We are pleased to bring these pinball machines celebrating the Star Wars™ galaxy and adventures to our fans.”

Complementing the immersive theme and exciting gameplay experience, Stern Pinball’s powerful SPIKE™ electronics hardware system enables high-definition graphics and innovative animations. SPIKE™ reduces system complexity and energy usage, resulting in enhanced reliability and simplified servicing.

Pricing and Availability:

Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (“MSRP”)*:
$US 4,499

*MSRP for sales to USA end-users, before any VAT, GST, Sales Tax, Duties, or other taxes.

I don't see how this makes any sense at all.

You can get almost any Stern Pro for around $4500 used (or less). When you add in tax this is right on top of the cost of a Pro.

Also, if you cross this release + Gary Stern saying the Pros were not priced high enouch + JJP prices, you can see where this is all going. Which is not a good news if you were still expecting a routeable franchised NIB pinball in the 5K zone.

Thinking out loud about progress...

Strange how pinballs have gotten more and more complicated, along with the price, but the production costs and building time drastically reduced, prices should be stable or even less.  The industry of electronics/parts have come along way, and they manage to keep costs low.  Examples: Tower computer in 1995 $1500, laptop 2010 $500 with way more memory and speed, cell phones 2018 $200 with way more functions than a laptop, touch screen, ect.  Another example in 1957 Philco 19 inch black and white TV was $650, Zenith 25 inch color console $500 1984, and Vizio 32 inch with apps $225.
