Open House Update 10/26/19

Just wanted to update everyone on a few new items for the upcoming Open House at my place.

First, adding two new guest games, Elvira LE and Jurassic Park LE, provided by Eric and Dave at Pinball Dudes.  Many thanks to them for bringing these new games for the community to enjoy.

I ordered 13 trophies this morning.  There will be trophies for the main event, for the kids tournament, and for four additional mini-tournaments.  Mini-tournaments are not for IPFA points, just for fun and trophies.  The mini tournaments will include:

A high score tournament on the Willie Wonka game provided by Little Shop of Games
A high score tournament on the Elvira LE game provided by Pinball Dudes
A Christmas Tree tournament on Target Pool
A Heavy Hitter tournament

It is a FLiPs event, so someone will win the Super Grover.

Also, for those who have been asking about what they can bring, I have some thoughts on things that could help.

I will have 4 or five tables and 25 or so chairs, which will not accommodate everyone.  So, if you have a folding table you can bring, that would be awesome.  Also, folding chairs or camp chairs would be useful.  The best way to guarantee yourself a seat is to bring one!  Also, I will have some pop-up sun shelters, but more are always welcome.

I will have several very large coolers, but more coolers and ice are always welcome, particularly if you are bringing beverages you want to keep cool.  I will have a lot of drinks, including water, soda beer, juices and so forth, but if there is something particular you want, feel free to bring it along.

We will have a lot of food, but side dishes (salads, vegetable trays, etc) and Desserts are always welcome.

Ron, Al and myself are bringing pop up tents as well and we have a few extra tailgate chairs we can bring too.  I also have a small tailgate table for the tent for chips bags and drinks, etc.  That should help keep people out of the sun

Please check and make sure everything is correct, including your IFPA number and spelling of your name.  I provided those to Brian, so if there are any errors, they are on me, not him.

Games are likely to adjust modestly as we test games and setup. However, all games that will be used are listed on the party announcement. Also, there are a few players listed on the player list that will not be playing, but it is easier to drop people than add them at the end. There will be check in with Brian prior to tournament start.

Jeanine and I had a GREAT time as usual. It's one of those rare times that I wish it was a 2-day event!

Great time seeing everyone!  Games were all playing very well and the food was awesome(meatball time!).  I came home with two extra green chairs.  If your missing two small green tailgate chairs, let me know!

Thanks Ron for the awesome hospitality and fun tournament! Alex and I had a great time and really enjoyed seeing everyone.

My husband and I had an awesome time in the wet and wonderful Beast's Lair! Thank you again Ron and Jeanne for opening your home to so many of us. It is the Florida Pinball Family Picnic, and it's one of Florida's true "major" tournaments, too.

And special thanks to Van Man Dan and Cody for making a special stop at my home on their long trek home for an impromptu tech call on our Big Indian and Road Show. We were really impressed with your knowledge and openness. We owe you one in a big way!

With all luck - and skill - we will all meet again next year.

Love the Beast Lair Babee!!! Couldn’t get enough of Royal Flush, Sweethearts and Quick Draw. Thanks to Ron And Jeanne and LSOG and The pinball Dudes for bring in the new out of box LE’s! So much fun!
