Need Tech in SW Florida (Naples)
« on: June 10, 2008, 03:44:14 PM »
I just brought my Firefox home and I am in need of a tech that knows how to do repairs on a LD game?
It plays blank and seems as if the LD is running and the sound board is running as well as the PCB. It just needs for the monitor to work. Its all original accept the LD and has a laserace. Has the original Phillips raster monitor in it.

Will pay for gas and hours + Beer!
Cant deliver since I just got it upstairs in gameroom.
Thanks!

It sounds like a loose connection or something.

Just to check, have you tried hooking the LD player up to a TV to make sure it's playing alright? Even if it isn't you should at least get the "game" overlay as that will work even with no LD player present.

Those old LD players mostly have BNC connections, but you can (or could) get an adaptor at Radio Shack for a few bucks to hook it up to a standard RCA jack.

Does the monitor have power?

Try giving Greywolf / Donny a PM.  He's got tons of experience and lives in your area.

Happy Gaming,

Its somewhat of a newer LD player its a Pioneer 4000 with the laserace. Its not the original Philips LD player that the magnets would come unglued.
I will check it out tonight when i get home since I just plugged it in and heard it running when i got it home.Just a black screen with sound in background and and it plays blind.
