Find the bath tub mystery house

This has been going around the internet for the past few days, but if you haven't seen it, it's pretty interesting.

It's one of those real estate sites, and this is 3D tour of a place they've got for sale in Kentucky.

The goal is simple: find the bath tub.

There are all kinds of weird implications about both the recent and more distant past of this place.

looks like a craphole of a home. until you go downstairs. now it looks like a defunct blockbuster. what the hell is this place? quick lookup, owner was arrested for a fencing operation. i'm assuming the DVDs are both stolen, and worthless :P

and the bathtub, right thru the soft-porn DVD girls gone wild sub-room. i was unable to get into that room (i tried for 17 hours), but the tub is in there:

he still sells on eBay. the DVDs are mostly stolen as well, but the insurance probably paid target more than the DVDs are worth. :P

7 years federal probation.

Total interior livable area: 1,972 sqft

1/2 bathrooms: 4

Kinda cool to have the tunnel/hallway that goes between the two buildings.

I think they may have edited to prevent access to the porn room since it was originally posted. The 3D tour has definitely been removed from the RedFin real estate site.

Yeah, it was originally a church apparently, then a daycare for a while and most recently a clearing house for stolen goods from Target and other local businesses.

The thing is, how many of those items were they actually able to sell? It's mostly DVDs, a lot of music CDs and a few Blu-Rays - only about 10% of them are things I've heard of though. The others are clearly b-movies, but there are tons of them, and the titles sound made up (but apparently are not). Really laughable ones like "Beware Of My Love", 2 copies of "Baitshop", "Arsenal of Assault" - and I didn't even know until now that there was a sequel to Bachelor Party.

Also, I've got to think that whatever demand there was for an Usher concert movie on DVD from 2007 has long since been met - I'm sure they didn't pay much for stolen DVDs but most of these are literally not worth anything.

It'd be cool to have all that space, huge basement, etc. - but I can smell the place from here. Cigarettes, cat shit & piss, musty rotten fruit and mildew. It'd cost more to have the place professionally cleaned than it's worth.

The way this place is laid out makes me wonder what the hell they were up to back when it was still a church. The current fencing operation seems much more straightforward, if rather delusional. How do you sell stolen garbage?

DVDs. no one traces stolen DVDs. who would bother?

listed at $375,000.

basically unlivable the way i see it. rooms that are useless. 2 toilets, 1 cup. there are zero closets. so technically, it's a zero bedroom, 4 bath.

Probably how they kept it running for 4 years or so.

Bigger question is, WTF were they even thinking? The market for DVDs, Blu-Rays & CDs has dried up. It's easy to find them on sale from legit sources.

For the few big, mainstream movies & TV series they had - OK, they might sell some of those, but at a tiny profit, and having to ship each one individually.

For the vast majority of what they've got though, it's literally worthless. Terrible b-movies that never got anywhere near a theater. I wouldn't buy those if I saw them in a store for 10 cents each.

Couple years ago a guy at work was giving away his DVDs & Blu-Rays. A few of the boxed sets of TV series got snatched up, but 90% of them just stayed in the "free" bin in the breakroom for 3 months before they threw them out.
Those were more recognizable movies too, big action & sci-fi movies mainly. No one wanted them on DVD. It's just more clutter.

I think the biggest question is, how did that tour end up on a legit real estate site to begin with? Taking all those pictures was at least an all-day job, if not a whole week.

Who puts in that effort without calling their boss and asking "Are you SURE you want this?".

Surely all the stolen crap didn't come with the place if you bought it? Even if it did, who would want it? It's an extra expense to have 95% of it hauled away. Probably have to pay extra hazardous waste fees too.

you could sell all those dvd(s) for $.25 each and make a ton of $$..

just look at the sold items on k7's ebay link above..

There maybe even some Video's of a forum Member that did some B-Rated Horror Movies.

it took the guy 3 to 4 hours to take the footage, whereas a normal house takes him 20 minutes.

the guy is offering "all the contents" for an additional $250,000.

crap, i'd take $25 dollars and consider myself lucky for all the legwork i didn't have to do.

The sequel - Christmas Nightmare Mansion!

No 3D tour on this one (not that I've seen anyway).
