Arcade sd card board
« on: February 05, 2021, 09:23:39 AM »
Hello villagers. I have a problem. I think I want to change out my 412 in 1 with a arcade sd. Do they still sell them and are they a pain in the ass to load from your computer. Any input would be great thanks.

I am doing an Arcade SD but haven't installed or loaded it yet.

Evidently you have to hook it up to authenticate the individual PCB serial number and then download ROMs or whatever they are.

Other villagers have it and are using it so maybe they can offer opinions/ and consultation.

I have one.  They are easy to load rooms onto the Sd card.  It's been awhile, but yeah, I think you put the SD card in the board slot, turn on the cab and it puts the serial # on it, then you load from your computer.  Here'e the info and site to buy it from:

https://www.phoenixarcade.com/product-category/arcadesd

I love it, and find it much nicer than a Pandora or xx-in-1.  But it is pricier, and no further games have been released in 2+ years.
Vids: Donkey Kong (w/DK, DK2, DK Remix, DKjr, DKjr Remix, DK3), Midway cocktail (w/ArcadeSD), Defender cocktail, Rampage World Tour, Space Invaders Deluxe (w/Braze), Moon Patrol, Tron (w/Satan's Hollow), Asteroids Deluxe (w/Braze), Pac-Man (with HSS multi), Pac-Land, Phoenix, MAME
Pins: Amazing Spider-Man, Incredible Hulk, Apollo 13, Judge Dredd, Centigrade 37
Pachinkos: Spider-Man Neo

I will.  I also might need to reach out to mcjeremy42 and ask a few questions if needed.

Feel free. I’m not as active as I once was, due to kids, work, and a full game room, but I still lurk and read!

I've had one of these in a cocktail for many years, and find it FAR superior to any of the xxx-in-1 boards. It has most of the classics, and for me playability is key. It only runs about 100 games because every emulation was hand-tweaked for accuracy. One critical feature is it "locks out" diagonals on an 8-way joystick in software for 4-way games. So, no more getting stuck in corners in Pacman etc. Better than kludgy 4/8-way collars on the joysticks.

Hope you found one, and Enjoy!
Pins: LOTR LE (NIB), LWJP (NIB), CV (NIB), WPT, Iron Maiden Premium, Spiderman, SST, LAH, Demo Man, WWFRR, Rollergames, Wild Fyre, Comet, Stars, Gold Strike x2, Delta Queen, Freefall, Rio, Super Straight, Mars Trek, 2001, Crosstown, Gulfstream, Bubbles (Genco 1947).

Vids: JROK MultiWMS, ArcadeSD cocktail, Lost Tomb.
