Gottlieb Neptune
« on: April 01, 2021, 02:57:24 PM »
Could anyone here give me a fair price range to buy a working Gottlieb Neptune?  They're asking 3500.  Thanks!!

I have sold more than one Neptune in the last 5 years. First one under 2k the second over 2k.

Two things to consider w this title:

Do you like the game? If so, who cares if it’s $3,500 if you’re going to keep it for a long time. It’s pretty damn rare. You’ll get your money out of it if it’s not for investment.
Have you played it? It’s one of those titles that people either love or hate it. I appreciated it the second time around that I owned it and even then others that played it didn’t care for it.

At the end of the day, if condition is fair or above bite the bullet and buy it. YOLO.

Is it local?  I sold one to a guy in Central Florida several years back and if memory serves me right it was $2500.  I had purchased it several years earlier and had nearly that in it with shipping.

With pinflation, I would say high 2's, low 3's.

I really liked the game, just was out of space.  I'd buy it back if given the chance now.

Thanks for all of your advice!  I have played it and it's pretty cool.  It should hold it's value being so rare. 3500 is pretty steep after seeing a few sold below 3000.  I may go ahead and snap it up.

market is getting stupider....by the hour.  :)  i was on one for $1500 7ish years ago out of pennsylvania. i'd pay $3500 for one today  if i could find a spot to keep it. because it would stay put.

desirable game. i love Neptune/Hit the Deck/Poseidon.

fair? only if its already been restored. But thats just my opinion. there are no reliable ways to nail down a value its always what the market will bear give or take sales to friends, family members, people that arent French............... or Ibis.......

The French part is an interesting variable in all of this... And I don’t care for Ibis’ real first name...

in all fairness, we do have a french board member. and straight up, he's a good dude. don't take out a person from his nationality.

remember. all people suck. until you meet one and he likes pinball. :)

There's a old fight between France and Belgium for the paternity of fries recipe. So maybe we should say "Belgian fries" and you should hate Belgian people 😁

It's local so no shipping-the playfield is very clean.  AAB is pretty cool as long as your family can handle all the knocking :-)
3k would be absolute max for me to throw down.
