multicade cocktail monitor fix? best option?

We have 2 of these Ms Pacman multicade cocktail machines. The monitor went out on the first one about 9 months ago. Now the monitor on the second one has failed. I had a previous thread about locating a transistor (HOT) and Hamster was able to identify the game as Tovis manufactured Happ Vision Pro MTG 1901 chassis. I assume they are both the same and have attached a picture of the second one that I took this morning. My question is what is my best option(s) for getting these fixed ? board replacements? Repair or what? Please advise.

Atari Jim has fixed the VP for me in the past, I would give him a buzz, you will need to bring the monitors to him for repair.

These had a habit of the flyback going bad, sometimes I would find the HOT
in the bottom of the cabinet still attached to the heat sink; got so hot, it desoldered
itself. In your pic, looks like the cap near the iso/xfmr has bulged up, also common.

caps, flyback, hot $150, would need the monitor or game

Ok so this thing started working again by itself on Saturday :roll: ??? This morning however its back down, no picture you can just hear the fan running is all. I assume its still a problem with the monitor? perhaps it just had one last rally in it? Will try & see if a drop off to Atari Jim can be worked out.

If it started back up even once, all it needs is a cap kit, and just replacing the one
I mentioned will probably do the job.

Thanks Guys !!  I replaced the capacitor that was pointed out in the photo as well as another one that looked suspect & its been working fine ever since ;D
