High on Life (Xbox/PC)
« on: January 18, 2023, 10:32:00 AM »
I started playing a game recently called High on Life on Xbox (currently available on GamePass).  It's a comical alien FPS that features Justin Roiland (Rick and Morty) as the voice of one of your guns.  Yes, your guns are alive and talk to you.

The game itself was a lot of fun.  It definitely has some crude and gross humor throughout.  It also has a pretty interesting story:  Earth is being invaded by a drug cartel, called The G3, that sells animals to "smoke" as drugs that get aliens high.  The cartel has learned that "smoking" a human yields a much more significant high and therefore must harvest as many humans as possible to sell to their drug users.  So you (a human) become a bounty hunter to take on the cartel.

There is a lot of exploring to do in some pretty elaborate worlds, which makes the game feel more extensive.  I played through the entire game twice to get 100% of the achievements.  You can get them all in one pass, but I missed a couple that can't be done once you pass a certain point in the game.

I won't really spoil much more of the game for those that want to go play through it, other than you get a jetpack, which I have compiled some of my favorite quotes from the Kenny (Roiland) gun:

I haven't really been sucked into a game like this since I started Fallout 4 so I highly recommend giving a try.
