Long ass movies
« on: July 12, 2023, 11:37:44 AM »
Since it was mentioned on another thread I figured i would complain some more.  :P

The new Tom Cruise Mission whatever part 65 movie is out.

The theatre I like sent me an email about it so I thought maybe I would check it out, checked the run time and....

It's almost 3 hours for an action movie with probably barely any plot?

I dunno I have a monthly pass there maybe I'll start going for half the movie and watch the other half another day, movies are longer than baseball games now and getting just as boring.

Hey average baseball game is now just a little over 2 hours with the new rules.

Yeah i'm not really too happy about a 3 hour part 1. I really liked Mission Impossible.. what Fallout? they one where he hangs off the side of that sky scraper in the middle east.

The rest have been fine but not amazing.

And this two part business.. still pissed about Spiderman multiverse 4 or whatever, which was stretched to be 2 1/2 hours let alone 5 with part two?

I just don't get it... baseball at least wised up. Movies are going in the other direction.

I love movies and its one of the ways I blow off steam during the week, if I get annoyed at work I will just bail out for a few hours and go see a movie.

Issue these days is lack of things worth seeing and now if I do find something I would watch its a half a day commitment.

Not a huge action movie person but i would check out Mission whatever if it wasn't 3 + hours of my life... with previews and all the other bullshit, its basically half a day.

In news sure to make Tufnel happy the new Avatar is going to be even longer than the last which was 3 hours and 12 minutes, maybe up to 4 hours this time.

You would think theaters would start to get pissed because you can only have half as many showings as a regular movie.

probably make more money if they just made it a tv show, in 30 minute segments..

It's a damn shame Cameron gave up and started just making Avatar movies.

The first one was good but the 2nd was just a rehash and I suspect the 3rd one will be even more stale.. and take 3 1/2 hours to do it as well.

I didn't see the Statue of Liberty movie because it was nearly 4 hours. I'm sure its good but damn.. especially when there's 20-30 minutes of trailers and commercials tacked on by default now.

Not shocked that James Cameron would try and make the longest movie of all time.

I am sure he is convinced everything he does is so wonderful there is no need to edit.  :P

Avatar like most of his stuff is cool looking but a fairly shit movie overall.

I'll be happy to skip the next one like I did the last..

The best thing about Avatar is the Disney attraction, especially at night.

Oh, the pin is pretty good too.
