I'm no expert but if its like 1987-1990s it's probably worthless unless somehow it grades high but you'd have to send it off and pay a grading fee to find out.

The fact that late 80s Topps packs are actually cheaper today than they were in the 80s when you factor in inflation says a lot.

For older stuff I'd just check ebay sold.

There is an app called collX that will assist you in valuing your cards.  I still have all of mine from childhood and although most were worth less than a dollar some were not.  My meager childhood collection is valued at over $600.

Good luck as I too have a collection and been trying to sell for a long time only to be offered almost nothing .  And I have good singles and error cards .
Selling at shows is the best bet .   How much for the lot? Send a pm Dan

Dan, you might reach out to Bryan Balkie.  He works with a lot of folks in collectible and has referred me to honest and reasonable people in the past when I  have had collectibles to sell.  I still have all my cards, most of which predate the junk wax era.  I would be curious if you find a reliable person who is fair.  Good luck and sorry for your loss.
