I’m going to be that b*tch

Can’t name a song….why you buying it?
Never seen the movie…why you buying it?
Can’t name a “character”…why you buying it?
And then say, you hate the environment YOU created?
Can’t say you know a single IM song if it wasn’t for the game….yeah, you’re a poser. Deal with it.

SPOT ON

Another reason I don't own any Band or Super Hero pin... These new music and Marvel pins are flooding the market and its already stale and the bubble is busted so they're probably gonna have trouble unloading these.
Just my uneducated guess and opinion.

Case in point, I own both Metallica and Iron Maiden pins and never bought a CD or LP from either band but now love both pins.
I got a 2 CD Iron Maiden CD set for Christmas last year from my grandson and always enjoy listening to it.
Still don't own andy Metallica CD's or LPS.

I knew of about 2 songs names from Metallica (Enter Sandman) and IM (Run For The Hills) before I got the pins.

Rush on the other hand I have about 15 LPS and 7-8 CD's before I bought the pin.

I'm that guy. LOL

This way of thinking is more agreeable when it comes to wearing t-shirts of bands you don't know about.

Pinball is different because only so many themes are created.  I only relate to a handful of the licensed themes that have EVER come out. I'm not into comic books, movies, and not a super fan of most of the band pins. That doesn't mean i can't enjoy the play of all those machines.  Lots of GREAT GAMES with themes i only know about from playing pinball.

Coming 2024 Barbie themed pinball ... yuck.  idk what theme I would really like to see but there's a lot of niche' styled pins out there.. Like Foo Fighters.. I can see Kiss or Ac/Dc being a classic but if someone released a lets say Barbra Streisand pinball who the hell would buy it.. I mean the gay community already has Elton John and now his newest release so they're all stoked up about playin with Eltons shooter rod and balls..

Interesting topic.

I had never read any of the books or seen the LOTR movie trilogy, but when I played the game when it was first released I thought it was pretty damn awesome and bought one NIB-my first NIB as a matter of fact which I still own.  I'm glad I didn't need to fill out a questionnaire proving my authenticity as a fan.

With respect to buying music, comic books etc.,(which could also pertain to pinball purchasing) how would anyone ever discover anything new if one had to be a fan or name a song or character before buying it?  Seems quite paradoxical.

Regarding a person wearing a T-shirt of a band they don't really know or listen to, that doesn't bother me. I've seen video clips where someone accosts someone wearing a (fill in the blank) shirt and says can you name 3 songs by them? I think with the advent so much digital downloading without ever holding the album or CD, a person can like a band/artist, assemble a collection of 50 songs from them and never even pay attention to the titles of the songs or albums after the initial download.  Similarly if a smart playlist is generated by the service introducing new bands based on known bands a person likes, then it is possible to start recognizing groups but not really know the songs.

Anyway, as I said: interesting topic.

i might be wired different, but if i'm not into at least one or two aspects of the theme of the pinball, i really don't care how well it plays.  :)

most of the games i own don't have a license. i have to like looking at these things when they're turned off. :P

how i view it: Foo Fighters is a great game. And i enjoy the music. Saying that...just Foo Fighters songs would end up boring me.

i never really enjoyed my Hulk, until i changed out all of the music on the code. Now, that game is excellent for my tastes.

i agree and can add, that another reason I don't own any band or superhero pins is because these new music and Marvel pins are saturating the market. It's already feeling stale, and the bubble seems to have bursted, so they'll likely struggle to sell these music and super villain pins. Just my uninformed guess and opinionated sandwiches.

wait, you mean, you don't play the game as a game, but a piece of entertainment?

So, ABBA.  Odd theme but what if it has really great game play?  Just an example.
