Thanks for the reply K7. I have a 2011 Town and Country which I really love, still looks new in and out except for some clouding of the front headlights. Always garaged Florida car. I replaced transmission at the dealer about four years ago, won't go back there. Has automatic transmission. Doesn't shift as soon as it should, sometimes will let up on gas pedal to get a shift. Shifting just seems wanky in general. Might be computer related, will swing by AutoZone to get a readout of codes done. Pretty sure it needs significant work.

could just need fresh fluid. i have to do that to my beater mazda, about every 30K miles. automatic.

don't EVER flush a transmission. :) just drain the pan, and refill with the right fluid recommended for your chrysler transmission.

old fluid in my mazda, and it gets sluggish on shifts, and can slip a little bit.

my car also doesn't shift right until it warms up 20%+. sometimes, if i leave cold, it will get stuck in 4th gear at the first stop sign.

it's a weird computer problem...so i turn it off, turn it right back on, problem disappears. shifts fine afterwards. this does not happen if i let the car warm up at all. :P

if anyone f***s up your transmission, they will say it's "from age". it usually is not. it's from mistakes made in service.

i've got an AAMCO story that will spin your head. a $1200 "inspection" quote given to wife...and it was only a loose bolt.

Chrysler and Dodge vehicles are very well documented. Check out some sites like chryslerforums or chargerz or look up town & country forums. Once you find a forum search for transmission problems or go to the trans subforum. Lots of problems around that time period with solenoids or valves that can be replaced if you have the ability to get under it or sometimes a sensor. For the whole trans needing to be replaced it would be either something catastrophic or low/no fluid for some time. Not that it doesn't happen but hopefully that is not your case.
