I tried to get gas for my generator yesterday. I had gotten two gallons Sunday of Ethanol Free at WaWa Sunday not even thinking hurricane at that point. So at noon yesterday when I took my 5 gallon can to fill, WaWa only had diesel. No other station had gas from 12 noon to 10pm.
I went out today at noon expecting stations to be refilled but none have been. What ther heck?
My generator can run on propane or gasoline. I have two 5 propane tanks filled from before and the (2) 1 gallon gas cans so not sure if I need to use, how much run time I'll get.
I also heard from my gf's brother who delivers for RaceTrac that he is off till Friday.
Supposedly a lot of fuel loading terminals at Port Of Tampa were damaged/affected by Helene so they weren't at 100% capacity anyhow.

Checking in from Clearwater.

Well, that was interesting.  I'm still here, never lost power and have very minimal yard damage.  I consider myself very lucky.

I hope that you all did as well but know that can't be true.  Please be safe during your clean up.

Aside from being in the center of the 'nadopocalypse it was a pretty easy time here. Normal tropical storm debris and  never lost power.

It looks like Tampa got lucky with the storm surge this time but I can't get home for a day or three to see if there's any more damage. I suspect that just the amount of rain probably means more water in my parent's house, but hopefully not much.

The wind must have re-distributed all the piles of Helene flood garbage too - got to give them time to clear the streets.

In Davenport it was just non-stop rain from noon to 5am or so, and high winds from about 2pm-4am. Lots of trees/branches down, a small part of the hotel roof blew off, but that was about it. Then the fire alarm went off about 3 hours after I got to sleep, false alarm though - had to wait for the fire department, I'm sure they were thrilled about having their time wasted on a day like this.

We're going to head back to Tampa once we can verify the power is on, and when we can get another hotel closer to home. Maybe 2 or 3 days.

Starting to think that mental patient politician that believes everything she reads online and thinks the government controls the weather may be on to something?

Maybe quite a few political figures own property in Tampa?

Every storm that is headed straight for Tampa nails somewhere else in the end... very suspicious.  :P

Considering the storm surge flooding from Helene, which passed by Tampa pretty far out in the Gulf... no.

Still waiting for the power to be restored in my parent's neighborhood too, stuck in this crap hole until then.
Hopefully just another day or two.

Got back to my folks place Monday or Tuesday, I can't keep track of time lately.

Power back on, but it goes out often still, the whole neighborhood, not just us.
Got running water, but only cold.

There was more water in the house after Milton, but not as much, and just rainwater instead of storm surge canal water/sewer water, so it wasn't quite as nasty. Got that pumped out.

Just got some temporary internet access now, still can't get into accounts until home phones are working though.

There is a FEMA site at Skyway park near the airport if anyone needs it. Not too many people seem to know about it.

They have free laundry facilities with detergent (bring your own if you've got it though, they may run out).
Showers too, but bring a towel and soap if possible.

Free hot meals and sandwiches - pretty good stuff too. Thick boneless porkchops with BBQ seasoning, and shredded beef that was quite decent.

Now I've heard the Skyway FEMA site may be closing tomorrow or the next day. Sigh...

There's supposed to be another on Hanley road between Hillsborough and Waters Ave. Haven't been there myself though.
