so we have a new stern. power switch is good. power in is good. there is zero activity from the CPU.

edited: checking the power supply fuse and twist-in fuse holder.

Then, will reflash with latest code on new SD card (class 10, 16GB)

also edited: i got the flowchart for this issue from stern:

how did you reflash it if the cpu isn't doing anything?

Swap the CPU Card from another system, probably dead.

closing this one out. customer didn't have a volt meter, so i had to do some "shotgun" tests.

i had the customer swap the power distribution board, as i've seen about 10 of these fail over the years in a Spike 2.

no go. it was good.

so following a basic stern flow chart, i could prove the power switch worked, and i could prove the sub power board
was not getting it's input voltage. so, dead power supply or a mouse ate the wires. that was what i was left with.

i've seen exaxctly 1 dead power supply in a spike 1 or spike 2 since working at the dudes.

well, now i've had 3. 2 blew up, for customers, in the same damm week. :P

nope. :)

none of the 3 failed power supplies had monk fans, and only 1 machine had speaker lights, which ran off an
independant power source.

Yet another area where Stern or their supplier is cutting costs/corners.

3 is a pretty good failure rate out of 2000+ games :)

not being a fan boy, but honestly, i've dealt with a single power supply issue until last week.

all 3 were out of warranty, but they still got covered by Stern.

i'll give credit where it's due.
