1999 Daytona 2 Sega Gameworks national tournament
« on: June 10, 2025, 02:23:54 PM »
Hello. Just curious if anyone on the village or a friend's friend participated on this tournament back in 1999. After searching the internet , I came across just one article that talks about it. here's the link if you want to read more about it and his experience

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/574738-daytona-usa-2-power-edition/52704844

I reached out to him the other day after 25 years and been sending emails back and forth with general information about the tournament. Below I added 3 pages of the rules and the first prize check?

Now the village has the second article and the player that won the overall national tournament! :)

for 2 minutes 15 seconds or 8 laps , yeah it's a nice one.

However, this tournament lasted 30 days. Every entree had to pay $1.00 US & $2.00 for UK. The scoreboard showed 5,000 scores. Not counting "the retry attempts" for a lower time. I was practicing alone on a non tournament version machine which was similar to the official one and played on the last day once to snipe it like a last minute ebay auction bid. In my opinion this should of paid more. :)
