Saturday April 26, 2025 The Pinball Asylum is going back in time once again with our 3rd ALL Electro Mechanical (EM) double header tournament. Join us for what is sure to be another frustratingly good time!
Do you have the winning formula for the EM=c2 (Competition Squared --> Double Header) III equation aka Einstein's Theory of Pinball Competitivity?
Although we doubled up the competition with 2 tournaments, you can play either one or both, it's up to you. And because EM's are often considered "equalizers" in competitive pinball, who knows who will make the winners circle, anything can happen and anyone can win a trophy, just keep that ball in play!

How Much: $25 for one or $40 for both
Practice between rounds IS PERMITTED so long as you don't play on a machine next to an active match.
Event #1: TIMED GROUP MATCH PLAY 7531 Scoring - 10:00am to 3:30pm (45 mins for lunch around 1 pm)
With this tournament format you are guaranteed to play all rounds no matter how many lucky inlanes or house balls you get!.
Event #2: FAIR STRIKES (# of strikes tbd but not less than 8 ) - 4:00pm start (approx)
Once you get your last strike, you're out but welcome to hang out and play anything else in the Asylum or head out.
WPPR MAXIMIZATION + KEEPING THINGS MOVINGBased on past feedback we are starting earlier, shortened lunch time and the tournaments are now essentially back to back so we get right into to playing the 2nd event to maximize your IFPA points. See food note below regarding lunch, etc.
EM-THEMED TROPHIES ARE BACK! Thanks to the generosity of Kevin Olmezer and PoolHeat.com, he commissioned Sierra Lieffort from Cosmic Craft company to once again create 2 EM playfield plaques and 2 hexagons for the Top 4 players in EACH tournament. These are unique custom themed trophies that will look amazing on your trophy shelf! In-progress images of trophies are below along with what finished the 2024 ones looked like.
WHAT TO EXPECT:House balls (guaranteed), perfect plunges (maybe), lucky inlanes (probably), lazaruses (possibly) and maybe even a game-ending tilt on a wedge head if you push your luck or more accurately, the machine!
IMPORTANT FOOD NOTE:We HIGHLY recommend bringing your own lunch/snacks/beverages. We are allocating only 45 minutes for lunch (starting around 1 pm) and some places like cracker barrel aren't the fastest and you won't want to miss a round of play. The Asylum is working on providing lunch for a contribution which will be announced at the event (or sooner once I'm provided details) otherwise ordering uber eats / delivery / to-go is probably a good idea if you don't bring anything to eat.
The tournaments are essentially "back to back" with 30 mins or less between them which is another reason to have food on-hand as there will be little to no time to go anywhere if you are playing both events.
TRAVELERS FROM OUT OF THE AREA - WHERE TO STAY:We've made it easy and affordable for players who have a bit of a drive and desire to arrive Friday evening so they can play fresh Saturday AM when we start. The Asylum's recommended hotel is the Hampton Inn Ft. Myers. Contact the Asylum for a discounted rate (subject to availability). Most out of area players typically leave Saturday after getting knocked out (or winning!) the Fair Strikes event since it doesn't run that late but you can book 2 nights if you wish.
THE PINBALL ASYLUM IS NOW A PUBLIC VENUE!Advanced contact or pre-registration to play in Asylum tournaments is no longer required although appreciated, you can just show up. There is no maximum player limit, so you'll get in. So we can speed up on-site registration with matchplay you can RSVP pre-register (optional) with no payment on Match Play here:

MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR OCT 11Due to the popularity of this tournament, it is a bi-annual event with the next one happening on Saturday October 11 and then the next day Sunday Oct 12 the Five Sun's Charity Tournament is happening at the Asylum, so consider making it a full weekend of pinball.
