New stupidest product - grocery store edition

$4.17 - 39.4 ¢/oz

Yep, it's a loaf of basic-ass white bread with the crusts cut off, with a premium price. The thing is, they also make it in wheat.
Who the fuck is so picky they won't eat crusts, but will eat whole wheat bread?

I've thought "Uncrustables" (frozen peanut butter and jelly sandwiches) were really stupid - stupid to buy, not stupid to manufacture & market, since apparently they're making a killing. Walmart made their own store brand ones recently, so you know they're popular.

This is Uncrustables with extra steps.

For comparision, Walmart's cheapest "Great Value" bread costs $1.42 - 7.1 ¢/oz

It's very basic and not very dense, but fine toasted, or used for a PB&J, or a hot dog - but if you're spending money on better sandwich ingredients it's worth buying better bread.

Pretty sure if you made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, using inexpensive versions of both ingredients and this bread, you'd get about 10 sandwiches for the cost of 1 Uncrustable.

Brand-name Wonder bread is more than twice as much as the GV stuff, but still far less than the crustless version. $2.92 - 14.6 ¢/oz

Actually-decent-quality Peperidge Farms white bread looks like it costs more than the crustless crap at first, but it costs less per ounce. Much denser, less pumped up with air. $4.78 - 29.9 ¢/oz - more than quadruple the cheap stuff, but the crustless bread is 10 cents more per ounce than that!

my diet sucks. my lunch every day is an uncrustable sandwich. it's a smart easy meal,
and not just for kids. the generics from walmart also fit the bill.

* i need calcium, but i can't drink milk, and it has nothing to do with lactose.

* i'm on a cholesterol pill, but dietician says; "i should eat egg yolks".

* i need potassium, but bananas are bad for me.

* "i drink too much water."...who the hell has ever been told that?

i think medicine is just one big ass joke.

what the actual f***?
