« on: December 15, 2025, 10:50:22 AM »
We lost one of the most modest ,nicest pin fellows i ever met besides Ron D.and I am sad I didn't get to see him since the last time we played some scooby doo together...
He did not tell me anything was wrong so this was unexpected and hit me by surprise.

This is super fast but his service is tomorrow and info is below. He is already missed!dearly

I met Zack and his partner/wife(?) Cheryl at the shows. Real nice dude. Sad to see him left us too young.

Russ you’d have loved Zack, mega smart guy, very quiet. Zero abrasiveness

I have known Zach and Cheryl from many tournaments over the years.  While I do not know them as well as many here, I always enjoyed the time I spent with them.  I was always impressed at how they  kept in good spirits even if a tournament was not going well.  Zach had been having some serious health issues for the last year or so, but I had no idea how bad the situation had gotten.  I was very sorry to hear of Zach's passing, and have Cheryl and Zach's friends and family in my thoughts at what must be an incredibly difficult time.  I hope that she can find comfort in her memories of their time together.

It is always sad when we lose quality people in our community, particularly when they leave us way too early. Zach was definitely a high quality individual, and I will miss seeing his smiling face, his sense of humor and his positive attitude.  Rest in Peace, Zach.

Ron

Over a year ago I saw Zach and Cheryl when she attended a women's tournament Sandra and I held at Silverball as we hadn't seen them in quite awhile at that point and asked about their absence. They informed us what was going on and it seemed the worst was behind him. We invited them to dinner and then over to Sandra's for the first time to play part of my collection that resides there and had a nice evening together. Only recently with the gofundme Cheryl put up did we realize that the fight had returned and with more vengeance but still didn't know the extent of it until the announcement of his passing. We attended the memorial the other night along with Sebastian and Paz. Zach was a tough competitor (as is Cheryl!) and many a late Wednesday night was spent at the Pinball Dudes battling in the finals. He loved to pick the solid state machines when he was driving the bus. Having just been at the Dudes for a tournament, it was weird to be there without him as many of my memories of tournaments there included Cheryl and him. They made a great couple and my heart goes out to her and his family. He is, and will continue to be missed.
