Since there is a poll going on of collector's top 5 picks of machines that do exist, What would be your list of titles that you would have liked to see come to light? I haven't put a whole lot of thought into it, but I could think of at least 20 right off the cuff. But I'll cut that list down to 10 (subject to change in the future).

1. A Nightmare Before Christmas: This has become a huge cult movie and 17 years later, it is still a merchandise war machine. It had fantastic artwork and    characters. Endless possibilities!

2. Motley Crue: Yes, I know Iron Maiden would make a nice looking machine because of the great album artwork. But Motley Crue was the biggest hard rock band of the 80's, the decade of decadence. And they are still going strong today. The band changed a little with every album, along with the music. Instead of a pinball machine that embodies their entire career, you could pick just one album. Shout at the Devil- Theatre of Pain- Girls Girls, Girls- Dr. Feelgood, etc. Any one of them would be cool. Hey, if they can put out a Guns N' Roses pinball, we can have a Crue pin too!

3. Tombstone: Great friggin' movie. The Earps and Doc Holiday! The gunfight at the OK Corral! The translight with the four of them walking to the fight (as pictured in the movie poster! Would have made a great machine.

4. Men in Black: This pinball would feature both films. That pretty much goes without saying. I can totally picture this one in my head. Perfect theme for a pinball machine.

5. True Blood: Could work! We have the Soprano's don't we? Another HBO series.

6. The Warriors: So I am going back a little, o.k., all the way back to the 70's. But here is another cult classic. Translite could be pretty cool, also with the "Warrior" title sprayed out in graffiti. Remember the Baseball Fury's?!!!!

7. KISS Reunion: Yes, another Kiss. We've had 3 Playboy's, 2 Simpson's, 3 Star Trek's, etc. Besides, this was a pretty big deal in the world of rock when the 4 original members (Gene, Paul, Peter & Ace) got back together.

8. Zombieland: we need a good zombie/comedy type pinball. I think this would translate well to a pinball machine.

9. "The Mask" or "Ace Venture": Not sure if these would work or not. If one of them had to come to light, I think "The Mask" would be the one.

10. War of the Worlds: I am talking about the remake with Tom Criuse. The tripods were bad ass, and that fog horn sound they made was just eerie. My #10 choice was originally "Avatar", but since that one almost came to light, it doesn't count. Iron Man and Family Guy would have been on this list if they weren't already out. I own them both and I can say they lives up to all expectations!

11. The Munsters: I know I said it was just going to be a list of 10, but I couldn't control myself. Picture this pinball in just black and white or sepia, the way it was on TV. That would be totally different and it would look great. I don't think it would work if it was in color.

Well, that's the list for my DMD machines. Titles that would be worth mentioning for early solid state machines cira 1978 to 1981 would be "The Dukes of Hazzard", "Welcome Back Kotter", "Grease" , "Starsky & Hutch", "Heavy Metal" the movie", etc.

You guys don't have to list 10 like I did, but I am curious to see what you guys come up with! Well this was fun. I probably should have gone to bed an hour ago! See ya!

Stop me if any of these have been made and im an idiot.

1. Harry Potter- Im not a fan but plenty of people are

2. Aqua Teen Hunger Force - maybe because they made a personal appeal to Stern to make one. And the pin on the 'Eggball' episode looked tremendous

3. Grand Theft Auto- perhaps a recent video game crossover would work nice.

4. LOST - maybe the window has closed on this one. But a lot you could work with there.

5. The Jetsons- again just a cool theme with a lot to work with.

War of the Worlds could have been a nice follow up to Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Harry Potter would have been nice, it could have been 'epic' like LOTR, etc. Plus there's a TON of shit to draw from for modes, etc.

Jetsons would be cool if for the sound package alone.

The Warriors would have been a KICK ass late 70s/early 80s pin. Maybe with some speech and everything. Nice 'the warriors' graffitti on the cabinet, etc. Hell don't stencil it, get somebody on the line to actually spraypaint each one so they are all unique. its supposed to be graffitti how do you mess that up?

Personally I'd like to see some Comic Book stuff, and no Iron Man and TDK don't count. I'm talking real comic book based pins with comic artwork. TDK would have been 10x better if they'd used Batman comic art, throw some Frank miller on the back glass, etc. It also would have 'stood up' better as it wouldn't have been dated by the movie as time marches on. An X-Men pin (especially when the movies were still good) would have been killer.. but with some good Jim Lee artwork on the backglass. You could have magneto magnet effects, it writes itself.

Plus I can't imagine it would have cost that much more for original art, I'm sure Stern could find some Marvel artists willing to draw a playfield for less than a small fortune. It could be made to be more specific to the pin and not look like gary's photoshop adventure with the stock artwork from wherever. Plus its probably cheaper to license the x-men comics than it is to license the x-men movie, especially when you don't have to worry about actors and all those headaches.

Pinball Pimp has threatened to re-design a classic Bally game to this spec... and he's f!#g crazy enough and talented enough to... the game they should have made in the late 70's.

Scooby Doo, Where Are You?

That darned dog and those meddling kids have been foiling evil do-ers since 1969.

Need I say more?

Still would make a great Stern.  Tons of material, theme, toys.  Multi generational coverage and attraction.  45 yrs old down to 4.

Putting the "fun" in dysfunction every day...

I also agree with Zombieland and a new Haunted House would be cool too.

You can't go wrong adding another good comic book themed pin to the mix.

Also rock themed pins are high on everyone's want list, I'll second a Motley Crue, AC/DC, Metallica, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin any of those bands with huge followings will make Stern money and go quickly into collectors homes.  We've said it before, if Stern could throw together a generic pin, but swap out playfield, backglass and sound they could do very well with 10 varieties of re-themes.  Add a jukebox in attract mode and it'll be gold!

Prince of Persia has been a highly successful video game franchise for 21 years and now is a summer blockbuster.  Seems to be some great potential there.

To be unique, a Jay and Silent Bob pin could be awesome too (with a censor setting)... lots of material there.

Okay, how about a Jimi Hendrix themed pin? Think about the light show and the music, OMFG, I want a Hendrix pin. The colors, maybe a hologram. Better yet, how about a mini laser light show? Little lasers on the top that shine down on the playfield. Hmmm, maybe the laser show would be better for a Pink Floyd pin, you could even have a little pig that comes out the top of the backbox at times.

So many great ideas! Now, all I have to do is win the Powerball and make some of these machines a reality. It's funny that Jocko bought up a Jay and Silent Bob pinball. That was actually on my list to start. I was just so tired at the time I was posting, I just completely forgot all about it.  I'm a huge Kevin Smith fan. Loved Jason Lee's character "Brodie" in Mallrats. Just watched Zack & Miri make a Porno again the other night. Funny as Hell! I love it!

Whoever said the Jetson's was brilliant. And "Lost" could be interesting. You could kind of lump it in the "24", "CSI" category, but it would have been a much better title than those other two.

It's cool to see what you guys come up with and would like to see. Kind of exciting to think of what the finished product would look like. The reality of these machines never being made kind of sucks though.

Before I sign off for the night, here is another one for you. A pinball machine based off the "Underworld" trilogy!? Kate Beckinsale on the translite. Holy Crap! She's only like one of the hottest women alive!

Great thread ... two comments:

1. How on earth has Harry Potter not already been made? Must be a freaking fortune being asked for licensing, because this one is a no-brainer. And I don't even like Harry Potter ...

2. What the hell is Firefly?

I am speechless.  :(

While we are talking FF though what about a Buffy pin? Lots of cool things you could put in there. I still want the Hendrix & Pink Floyd pins though.
