I would agree. If the games you look at have good plastics, dmd, electronics/boards, etc and the decals are available, that is way better than a nice cabinet and a chewed up playfield, gassing display and a bunch of board hacks.

i don't disagree with what you are saying, but installing new decals is alot of labor...many hours sanding/scraping off the old silkscreen image, filling all digs, scratches, etc, sanding /primering it - after all that then you get to actually install the new decal.

i would do all that with an arcade control panel overlay, but (since i don't know), are the pinball decals that thick where you cannot lay them on the old decal without it being obvious? seems like it would be as simple as tinting a flat piece of glass, but as i've not done it, i could be way off.

i'd still take cabinet fade over playfield wear anyday :)
