PayPal decided to side with him instead of me, even though it was clearly sold as-is, but was working fine when it left my hands.  I'd suggest not selling anything to arcadenova on Ebay, aka Sebastian Saldana, aka Ramon Garcia.  Yeah, two names associated with his PayPal and Ebay account.

As for PayPal, I've sent them a rather lengthy letter detailing the faults in their lack-of-findings and demanded they re-investigate the case.

What happens if you don't give the kid the money?

he has no choice. the cash is currently locked up thru paypal, and once paypal gets a valid track number, kid gets his money back (if he ships a rock, paypal will say "FILE A POLICE REPORT, WE DON'T GET INVOLVED...".

What a corker that kid with a bunch of names is.

California is one state I have never been ripped off in, and probably won't either.

I had a problem with a $200 naomi motherboard between myself and a guy in Bakersfield a few years ago. I bought the motherboard, and he sent me an old pc motherboard instead. When I disputed, he gave paypal the reciept and they sided with him. I called my cousin Arthur who happens to live about 10 min from Bakersfield, and he grabbed 4 other guys into the pickup and went to the guys house with a polite request to turn over my money, my motherboard, or several fingers.  The guy was kind enough to hand over the money.

 ;)

P.S. I have approx 40 cousins in Cali.

:) that puts me at negative 212. sweet!

i hope inmyrem can work this out. eBay believes that "most people are good". i believe that "most people at eBay suck".

could be an honest problem, but multiple negatives sets a bad trend. we'll see once inmyrem get's his multicart back. too easy to swap guts on one of those.

The scams are endless, don't even get me started with Ebay and their stupidity and customer resolutions.

Here's a few interesting scams I've heard, to consider when selling:

Circuit boards- send a board, they claim defective and get their money back, they send you back their OLD/ broken board, NOT the one you sent

Baseball/ football cards- send a mint 10.0 ______rookie card, they claim not as described, they send you back a grade 2.0 card worth hundreds/ thousands less, if you get ANY card back at all (i.e. you send a Honus Wagner, they send back a Omar Vizquel card that came at the bottom of a Cheerios box)... their word against yours, as they're  the buyer, Ebay says they're always right. YOU could be the one who switched the cards when you got your mint 10.0 back, right?

I've quit Ebay, will never sell ANYTHING there again, too much to type...again. Also quit Paypal.  Both assume you're guilty until proven....well, even if you have PROOF they STILL don't care, buyer is always right. So, unless it's an item you don't mind GIVING away, don't bother.  And if you're giving it away, why bother with all the time to list, sell, go to post office to send, dispute scam?  Save yourself the time and stress, let EBAY die off.

i agree with all jeff says, except for me, eBay is a necessary evil. have to sell laptops somewhere. :)

the one thing i hate...if i sell a $10.00 item, i'll have a bitchy buyer and several "waa waa" problems. if i sell a $20,000 car, i have no issue. :P it never f-ing fails...

i hate paypal. i hate how eBay rakes in money by providing an online flea market. both companies are ridiculous, but successful.

i sold a laptop. guy opened it up, and took my LCD and my motherboard (i mark some internal components and take pics before i ship, and use tamperproof void when removed serial labels). he says it's dead, shipped it back, and i took the returned laptop and showed proof to eBay of what had occured, but they found in buyer's favor (didn't tell me why). the money that was held in limbo went back to my account after i called them up on it. that buyer had 99% positive feedback, with a score of over 3000 +. don't trust anybody.

Yea people suck!
A good friend of mine has a big biz selling marine parts online, mostly via Ebay

last year he got burned big time on a rebuilt power head he sold,2200 bucks plus shiping that was around 250.00.

well right before the 30 day mark the guy opens a dispute and says the motor overheats and wont run right.
well affter going back and forth my bud pays to get the piece picked up and shiped back and paypal refunds the money
right away, when he got it back it was the guys blown up power head that he painted black to look like the one he got new/rebuilt.
well he had to spend hours and hours on the phone and file a police report and show all knds of proof and pay his lawyer to file paper work and at the end of it all paypal refunded some of his money back but he was still out around 900 bucks.

He no longer sells rebuilt motors on Ebay only sell's used parts and new parts and only makes big deals outside of Ebay via
his web site or over the phone.

Update for anyone interested.  I received my money back this evening.  The kid never responded back to PayPal after they sent him an e-mail saying they decided in his favor.  He was given a week and a half to reply that he had sent the item back and provide a tracking number.  He never did.  My guess is he couldn't be bothered to waste his own time to pack it up and ship it back, then wound up losing his claim.  Thankfully, since he didn't respond and the time limit expired, the case is closed and cannot be reopened.

Also, due to PayPal's siding with a 19yo kid using his dad's PayPal account and only been active for a year on Ebay and PayPal, I've decided to only use PayPal if I absolutely have to.

Thanks for your advice Chris.  I'm glad I didn't have to use it.  I will keep it handy though.   ;)

I apologize for churning up this thread, but I wanted to let you guys know the guy I mentioned is now on KLOV as cbass.  Be very wary  of buying anything from him or selling anything to him.  Someone sent me a message last night that I just read, pointing me to his posting.  I was also pointed to another person who was just ripped off on Ebay by him.  Did the exact same thing to the guy, except he left negative feedback on that guy.  Again, sorry for bumping this up.  Just want to make sure the Florida guys don't get duped!   :)

Thanks for the heads up - I'll stay away from him.  I don't know why people have to do crap like that to others....There used to be a time when people stood behind their words and honored their comittments.

I just had a 0 bidder buy a laptop then not pay. Freakin' ebay can't block 0 bidders, had to give the dick 4 days before i could file a non-paying bidder then another 4 days to pay. At least it wasn't as nasty at this guy though.. more of a time waster than anything. It's a shame ebay has gotten this way.. it's always had problems but it's really gone to crap last few years, especially with their new 'buyer is always right' policies.

Jack, I recently had someone like that as well.  The only good thing which comes of the wait time is if the person doesn't pay, you receive a credit on Ebay towards the winning price and you get to keep your item.  However, in my situation, the asshat paid a few hours before the time limit was up!  Had to wait almost 8 extra days before I could receive the money from selling the item.  On top of that, actually had to wait a few extra days to transfer the money from PayPal to my bank account.  It's definitely not fun selling on Ebay anymore, but I've been having to lately.

i can spin tales day and night about laptops and ebay and 0 feedback bidders and shipping to foreign countries.

necessary pain in the assbay.

there is no good thing about a non-paying bidder. you get no money, you get final value fees back after 10 days, you can't relist your item for @ 10 days, you even lose 2nd chance offers, because no one waits 9 days to get that 2nd chance offer. and usually, the high bidder bids with a minute left, then disappears. you can even see the noobie bidding on $100,000 worth of product the week he signs up to ebay.  F*** ebay, F*** 0 feedback asshats, F*** paypal, F*** craigslist...ok, back to eBay ;)

oh, i forgot to mention...eBay's fraud department? it consists of 1 dude.
