The FAST 2008-09 competition season opens up in Lakeland, at Joker Marchant Stadium! This is our second event at this site, and we anticipate an interesting and exciting course. The $30 entry fee includes the world-famous FAST Lunch!
Pre-registration will close at 10 pm 1 September. Entries cancelled prior to the pre-registration deadline will receive credit for a future event. Although pre-registration is capped at 65 entrants, we will take a limited number of additional walk-ons as well. There is also no restriction on guests at this site. If you wish to bring more than one guest, please note the additional names or tell us how many, so we can plan for lunch -- and we still ask that you chip in $5 for each guest eating lunch.
The site will open up about 7 AM for site setup and car preparation, tech inspection starts around 8, drivers' meeting at 10, first car off ASAP afterwards. Tech will set up in the paddock area. All drivers will work. The number of runs will be determined by the event chair the day of the event, but given sunshine, there's no reason to expect we won't get at least 6 runs.
Like Brooksville, Marchant Stadium is a traditional autocross site, although there are some trees providing shade for those not driving. Sunscreen and additional drinks are still wise additions to your kit. For insurance purposes, everyone must sign the waiver. Baseball season is over in August, so the grid flow should be a bit smoother than in March, but please exercise additional caution in the paddock area and maintain strict control over children and pets.
The classing system will change starting with the September event -- please check the FAST website to determine the correct class for your car when filling out your entry.
Please note that drivers under age 18 will require a parent or guardian to sign the insurance waiver allowing them to compete or be on-site.

Driving Directions Take Interstate 4 to U.S. 98. and turn southeast (if you pass Lakeland Square Mall, you've turned the wrong way). Turn left (east) on Griffin Road and follow that to the T and Lakeland Hills Blvd. Turn right (south) on Lakeland Hills to Al Kaline Dr, turn left, and follow Al Kaline to the north end of the parking lot -- parking and paddock will be at that end.
