I am not sure who's who's HH that is on CL but after reading that description even if I was interested I would not buy it. It is a nice looking HH but for $2600 there are a whole bunch of other Pins I would prefer to have.

Aw man!  I leave for a few hours and it's sold.  Well, congrats on the sale.
How the hell does everyone just afford to drop almost 3g's on a pinball on a moment's notice?!

Exactly someone loved this game. I would rather have an all original and pay a little more. Even if you pick up a cheap one for $800. You are going to have way more than $2500.00 in it when you replace the playfields, re paint the cabinent, replace back glass, work out all the kinks in the Got 80's systems. If you get someone that is going to do all this work right.

Someone that was looking for a superb example of this game. That is nothing there is people that will drop $1700.00 on an unopened Kiss make up Kit from the 70's.

Oh yeah also if you know any Star Trek collectors that have a mint condition 75 Captain Kirk mask made by Don Post. Halloween movie nut jobs will pay up to $20,000 for this latex mask. Because thats what was used in the movie painted white. Not many were made back in the day and not to many left around that haven't rotted.

Why does everyone seem upset he sold for that price??

Why does everyone seem upset he sold for that price??

Because they couldn't snag the game in that condition for $800.00
Title: Re: Anyone know this HH on CL?
Post by: kawikid on November 07, 2011, 01:51:50 PM
i dont know who is upset? it was a high price for that title but he sold it for the price and the buyer sounds happy. i dont see a problem.
Title: Re: Anyone know this HH on CL?
Post by: Johny_Utah on November 07, 2011, 01:59:17 PM
The buyer is happy thats all I care about has been looking for this game a long time. Glad it went to someone who enjoys it. Plus he didn't have to worry about paying for shipping or any damage occuring to it during shipping if this turned up in another state. Plus the convience fee. I haven't seen a HH besides Ebay for sale in 2 years in FL. Let alone one in this condition in your own back yard if your are looking for one.

No just realistic. You can't put a value on 20 or 30 year old items that are still like new. Thats why unopened Kiss make up kits from the 70's go for $1700.00 and 1975 Don Post captain Kirk masks sell for $20,000.00.

I read through the comments posted before yours and didn't see any price policing.  People like HH, and there was interest amongst Village members to boot.

Come on Jocko I would of got laughed of the planet asking for $2600.00. Here. I emailed one member here who has been looking for one for a long time I was just asking 2K then. He said it was to high. Which is fine.

Maybe, there'll always be someone like that.  However, CQ games are in a whole different pricing class than most people can stomach, and there are plenty of people here willing to pay whatever it takes for what they want.  Regardless you wound up with a thread here despite your intentions not to.  :)

I'd personally prefer to see Village members always post their wares for sale here even if there is a public listing, because we all benefit from buying and selling amongst each other one way or another.  In return it would be nice to see a bit less of the offensive price policing that forces people to think twice about listing here.  We're like family, and family members require a bit of thick skin.  No one can deny being unscathed by some thread or comment after enough time is spent posting here.

If you want all original like new  30 year old games thats why you can't put value on it. You can always restore but original unless you have a time machine no other choice. Sure would of like to kept it in the community but don't want to deal with the BS drama with price policing and what not. The guy that got it was happy as a pig in shit and I was happy with the sale price so that is all that matters. ;D

Forget Pins. These Don Post 1975 Catain Kirk Masks sold for $10.00 new back then. A mint one surfaced in Orlando a year ago after pissing match's between collectors it sold for $25,000.00

You can flip them here all day long for $20,000

It's all supply and demand. Rolex couldn't give this watch away back in the 70's sold for like $700. So they didn't make very many. Then Paul Newman wears the Daytona in the movie winning and the Rolex Daytona craze started. Now that awful red watch is simply know as the red dial Paul Newman Daytona and sells for $250,000.00. Crazy what items go thru the roof in price.
