Well in RPG's like D&D dragons are highly intelligent.
Look at Smaug in The Hobbit.

Well yes, but they've never established that the Dragons in this show have that level of intelligence so the Dragon realizing that Daysnensy's quest for the Iron Throne was her ultimate undoing is a hell of a stretch.

But once again, that's what fit their story so that's what they went with.

10 minutes of screen time wasted on tyrian lanasters face crying and sobbing and later staring blankley. Trash ending, drogon made the throne wheelchair accessible, you didnt see that forshadowing? Brilliant writing... Not.

I kept looking at the runtime.. at one point we were 1/3rd of the way through the show and fuck all really happened.. They rushed to the end then when they get there they decide to take their bloody time with lots of scenes of people walking through rubble.

They were making 'moments' man.. all about the 'moments'.. I guess.

It would have been cool if one of the spin-off shows was Arya exploring the West, though I can totally see that actress not wanting another 8 years of this, even though her career will probably be fairly limited once the Game of Thrones fame wears off in a couple years. They could always go with "and then she slapped on someone else's face as a disguise" and never speak of it again. It could be a "monster of the week" type show, sort of a fantasy Star Trek where she's just going around exploring, killing strange new people and creatures.

I think we all want the characters to go on and do something more, something to justify their backstories and build-up but this is it.

Will be interesting to see how the spin-offs that are being made will do. I suspect a lot of people aren't going to bother. I know I'm not overly interested in anything GoT.. but i'll wait for reviews as at least it will be different stories and show runners.

I have read the next "big" HBO nerdy show to replace GOT will be Watchmen, that's a little more exciting.

Have you seen the trailer? It looks horrible.

First it's not a new adaptation of the source material.. it's a sequel.

The original Watchmen is a comic masterpiece.. the "Citizen Kane" of the medium if you will. I was OK with the movie version (despite it's flaws) but I just can't get into somebody other than Allan Moore making a sequel.. which he's not going to do probably because it's not a story that needs a sequel.. They tried to do it in the comics but I never bothered because it just seemed apocryphal.

So not sure how this new series will do, I highly doubt it will do GoT levels of viewership.

You just knew they would have to find a cheesy way to keep the door open for some characters so they can make a bunch more $$$ and milk it for all its worth later.

Because that cheesy new material for an original spinoff  would be crap compared to doing another Spider-man,Hulk or better yet another Peter Pan Movie  .Ha

As far as I know all the spin-off series are going to be prequels, and definitely less interesting because of that. It may be due to an agreement with George R.R. Martin; he wants the freedom to write the "future" of this world without any interference from the show. Not that it's looking likely he'll come out with many more books at this rate; even finishing the main series seems pretty iffy.

Another spin-off idea though; "Gilly 'n Sam" - it's a fairly standard fat-guy with a wife who's too hot for him sitcom, but with more beheadings. Sam is still a nice guy, but not really capable of running a "great house" and a big part of the kingdom. He's more interested in his books. Gilly on the other hand, immediately goes mad with power upon becoming a "lady" with servants, money and power. She's had a shit life up to this point and is going to make up for it. "How many servants did you put to death today dear? We're running low on scullery maids again..." - it's basically a re-make of the old British sit-com "Keeping Up Appearances".

This...

They NEVER established the dragons as having more intelligence than the average Border Collie.

I thought Tyrion should have been all-in on Bron's brothel idea too.

"Yes! We shall build four mighty brothels, one for each corner of the city! All surrounding a grand central brothel! We'll have whores and wine from all over the world, and a donkey show every hour, on the hour!"
