Yeah I like the idea of someone who isn't afraid to say what they think and marches to beat of a different drummer.
Without a doubt, first name I'd call for someone to fit that bill would be Jon Norris (from what I know he's had beef with Stern, Trudeau, Tanzer, and others he's worked for and with), the man owned over 70 Gottlieb EMs at one time and has intricate historical knowledge of such, incorporating concepts from them in his rulesets. Norris considers himself a maverick, both of design and rules, was the primary designer at Premier for the better part of 7 years, probably has tons of stories, and most of all is super opinionated, has thoughts on the state of the industry, its history, and everything else and since he's out of pinball, he can say it all. I'd definitely try him if you wanted someone like that.
