I received the flyer last week I believe.  Sad to see yet another amusement venue go out of business.  Hopefully anything good will be nabbed and saved for future generations.

Dang, there's some sweet fighting game cabs up for grabs there!  I hope somebody here can get them for a good price!

Problem is those fighting games are all inside monstrosities of cabinets (showcase).

There's never any deals at these auctions anymore sadly.  I gave up on them after the last couple I attended.

There were a few deals at each of the last two.  Sure most of the stuff was overpriced, but if you stayed long enough there were a few good deals IMO.

Some of the best deals I've gotten have been at the past couple of auctions I've attended. Damn I bet the older ones were steals. And yes, those fighters are all in showcase cabs. Still good for parts and boards though if you don't have room for the monstrosity.

The vast majority of the games are 'Large Format'. Usually this spells death at 'normal auctions' because a) most of these games don't make any money anymore and b) they are monstrously large and not suitable for (most) home use.  That eliminates both sides of the bidders.. ops and home buyers.

The other side of the coin is these type of very public auctions usually have crazy prices.. but once again, its normally on the stuff Joe Sixpack can fit in his explorer. I don't think the 2 monitor deluxe version of Time Crisis 2 fits that description.

So how will the prices end up? Who knows. There's a lot of newer redemption games there so I suspect some ops will show up.. maybe they'll want the big stuff as well.. its really hard to say. Either way there's not a lot there and I can't imagine it taking more than 45 minutes to auction all this off..

My wife said the auctioneers called to promote the auction.  I believe she said that they claimed you could even bid online.  Safe to say it will be a zoo either way.  I'm not a big auction goer, so I assume some of you guys are getting hit up even more.
