Game of Thrones flippers stop working when jackpots are made?

I updated my pin recently to 1.34 and I don't think it's connected to the update but when I make a jackpot or other shots involving extreme flashing from the lights the flippers stop working for a short amount of time (up to 3 seconds). If I have the button pressed down before the power cuts off the game will not re-engage them; the button would have to be pressed again for them to work. What's wrong? It's not a specific shot or opto that causes it to stop working. I'm stumped!

I have not. I am willing to go back to the previous version or verify and reflash code but I updated the code almost 2 months ago and only recently was I aware that this is an issue

Stern flippers do not use optos, so it's probably code/board related.

Since it's a SPIKE board set, there's probably not a lot of info available.

I'll see if I can grab some schematics.

No schematics like we're used to.   

Flipper switches and coils on Node 8.  Your slings and their associated switches are also on Node 8, along with some lights.  I'm curious if your slings work when this is happening?

I'd start by reseating your Node 8 connectors.  If that doesn't work, redownload and reflash.  The node boards will apply any node updates when updating code.

If neither of these help, I'd call Stern tech support. They can probably walk you thru a procedure to test the node board or just advise you further.

Solid advice, since there are a few node boards that are exactly the same board(at least in the kiss i had) in spike under the playfield you can try a swicharoo if davids advice doesnt help.
