Taxi Reliability

Anyone know about the Taxi situation in Bradenton? Up north in Rochester NY it seems there were large taxi companies with a central dispatcher in touch with many cabs. Down here it seems there are no large taxi concerns, the ones  I  call say to just leave a message. Anyone know of a larger reliable taxi company down here?

Far as I  know you can only use Uber through a smartphone or computer interface, Lyft seems to be the same way. I need a taxi phone number for my sister who is smartphone and computer illiterate.  She needs to be able to contact a reliable taxi service via phone. I think Uber may be putting taxis out of business.

At 1/3 of the price, no wonder. I have had others (with a smart phone and Uber account) call me for another person. They just type in the pickup address where they are. They can also call or message the driver to let them know more info
