Meeting other POPS
« on: August 28, 2018, 11:46:54 PM »
Greetings, I noticed there wasn't much activity in this group, but I really like the concept.  I'm in Lake Buena Vista, and am an avid pinball player.  I frequent the Pinball Lounge in Oviedo as well as Replay Museum in Tarpon Springs.  Just wondering if there are more Orlando players nearby? Jeffrey (JAC) on the machines.

Welcome. This group is not as active as pinside or some of the others, everyone is known, and this is a quiet week. It’ll pick up later on in the fall, as everyone is kind of busy right now doing other things.

Welcome and nice to have met you.

Lots of activity in the state, and in particular competitive pinball is exploding. In fact big events at The Pinball Lounge this weekend.

Some sites:

International Flipper Pinball Association  www.ifpapinball.com

Upcoming Florida tournaments https://www.ifpapinball.com/nacs/standings.php?l=FL#uptour

Florida Tournament Pinball on FB   https://www.facebook.com/groups/960006820809365/

Various clubs occasionally hold open house events, with IFPA tourneys. Ron D. of FLiPS is hosting one in October.

As someone said, The Village is not as active as pinside, (which is worldwide) but The Village is one of best sources of happenings in Florida

Enjoy !

yeah, I've been going to the lounge on Fridays, it's alot of fun.  I'll be there all day Saturday, and I have been following IFPA tourney schedule as I can travel to play, been in 6 so far.  Hope to meet some of you this weekend.  Leaving on a cruise on Monday...anyone know where to play pinball in Key West and Cozumel?

Hey Jeffrey,

This is Kurt from The Pinball Lounge. Itll be great to see you again this Satirday. It'll be a great day for pinball! The POPs club essentially morphed into what we are doing now at the lounge with our leagues and tournaments. POPs was a monthly get together usually held at people's houses before we had places to play with a quantity of machines in the area. There are some other local POPs type meetups that happen from time to time and they are announced here so stay tuned. Example: Deadlanders Festivus tournament at his house in Deland is in December.

We are working in a weekly Thursday night series of tournaments at the lounge. They are all IFPA so watch for that announcement as well. We should have a flyer for that on Saturday at the Three Strikes Double Header tournament.
