Hope this is good but the trailer isn't all that spectacular to be honest.

Hope it's great, I love many of Kevin Smith's movies, saw Clerks at the Tampa Theatre downtown back in the day, and saw the 3 after that in the theater too.

On the other hand, this is a bold statement: "Kevin Smith hasn't made a Crap movie yet.. " and one I can't really agree with.

I'd put Tusk, Yoga Hosers, Cop Out and Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back all firmly in the "crap" category.

Jersey Girl I'll give a pass because I wasn't the intended audience, it was mean to be more of a family film and once people calmed down about it some actually seemed to enjoy it. Not for me though.

On the other hand Clerks 2 impressed me because I fully expected it to be crap and unnecessary, but it turned out really good.

Kevin smith has made a ton of shit films for sure.

I think he's good at his main schtick.. Clerks, Mallrats, Jay and Silent Bob.. those were all good. Everything else is a mixed bag with a lot of it being pretty garbage. The last movie of his I really liked was Clerks 2 and that was what.. a decade ago?

He's also become this weird sappy shill in recent years. Everytime anything star wars pops up they parade him around so he can watch it and cry like a little baby. I'm not sure if he's just become an incredible pussy or there's money in it somewhere. Hey Kevin, I wanted to cry after seeing The Last Jedi too.. but it wasn't because it was good.

So yeah this trailer.. not sure. He's also cast his daughter in another movie. I get it, it's his daughter.. but I don't find her particularly appealing or funny.

I like a fair number of his movies, but particularly enjoy Dogma.  Not sure why it seldom comes up in these types of conversations, but it is the one I enjoyed the most.

Good point Ron, Dogma was one of my favorites too. Smith has made some not great movies over the years.

I enjoyed the first Jay and Bob for the most part as it was fun. Plus I could have just stared at Eliza Dushku for two hours and be happy. Do we really need another? Oh joy a bunch of stoner jokes that we heard before and a bunch of cameos.

So this movie was released like a week ago.. thought OK will check it out via our weekly movie club.

Apparently it's just getting the Kevin Smith road show treatment.. ie you have to go to see it with him for like $60 a ticket. Fuck that.

I guess it had a 1 or 2 day Fathom events showing as well but that's long gone (who knew?)

Trailer looks .. eh.. could go either way. Also Kevin Smith has turned into a bit of a crying pussy since his heart attack so not sure how that's going to affect his humour.

Either way this has been relegated to 'catch it online when it pops up' which will probably be in 2 weeks.

Yeah, this smells like a "when it hits the internet, for free, and even then it's a maybe..."

I haven't gotten through Yoga Hosers either, that was pretty dire.

Tusk was terrible. Red State was decent, interesting at least.

He had that run of 4 pretty great movies in a row in the 90s, and Clerks 2 was way better than I expected. Other than that... meh.

I saw this during the 2-day fandom showing a few weeks ago. It was a good down memory lane through many of Kevin's characters in the past (Clerks, Mallrats, and Chasing Amy - really the only 3 movies I very much enjoyed by Smith). It was better than the first J&SB movie in my opinion - but certainly not on par with the three titles previously listed. Going to a meet and greet in JAX in Feb. to see this again. I wish I could say I was looking forward to it a little more.
