I wouldn't use them. Lots of people do and have no problems but some people also use bungee cords and get lucky and not have a problem.

This is just me but I ratchet strap the hell out of things and check periodically if it is a long trip.

if you know how to use a "Latching" Strap to hold down a pinball head your fine.

However, anything else, such as securing game inside a Moving Truck, or Trailer, i would use a Ratchet Strap , Latching straps can come loose.

i picked up 4 of those amazon style straps from a harbor freight for an unexpected game move. they were garbage. maybe that was just harbor freight quality. but i keep ratchets in the element all the time now.

you can buy ratchets at almost any box store if you need them stat.

ikea had some latching straps that worked very well, they don't carry them anymore sadly :(

thanks one and all... i did pick up both since they are not super expensive (ratchets and tie down style). will probably use the ratchet straps just because i am paranoid.
i will have to practice for a while with the ratchets, i swear i watch videos and look at them and they still end up a ball of mess when i eventually get them to work.  The neighbors are going to be like "there is that weirdo in the yard practicing the ratchet straps on the trees again"

I used to use them years ago and stopped using them.  They eventually wear out fast and the ability to hold things tightly dissipates.  Go with the ratchet style, you can't go wrong.

I always go ratchet straps for tying down to a trailer and the huge rubber bands for keeping plastic wrap on the games (I use mostly open trailers for hauling)
Looking for working or complete but non working examples of: Dragon's Lair, Frogger, Joust or Multi-Williams in a Joust cab

I have both types and invariably find myself using the ratchet straps when it really matters.  I only use to others for quick things where I am not worried about movement.  Having both can be handy, but if you could only use one type, the ratchet type is more useful.   The real key is learning to not overly tighten ratchet straps, as that can cause issues with wood damage, as in strapping a head way too tightly.

Ill add to this.  And damage to the side rails, the top of them parallel with the glass will dent from the head if you crank them down too tight.

Danny,  there's a lot of.... Well badness in the world today. I see it in the court everyday. I've sentenced boys younger than you to the gas chamber.... didn't want to do it.... felt I owed it to them.
