The Substance

Somehow missed this in the theaters.. if it even had a run.. but heard a lot about it so finally watched it.

Body Horror fans will love this one.. David Cronenberg would have been proud.

Maybe runs a bit long but there's so much great chaotic gore towards the end I'm not sure I'd cut anything.

You also see a lot of Andie Mcdowell's kid in this. And I mean, a lot.

Fun film.. get the family together next movie night.

It was out in theatres for months and got nominated for an Oscar for a few things... best actress, director and writing I think.

Dont think it won much of anything because that sort of movie wouldnt win an Oscar.  :P

I reviewed it last year I think. Was well worth seeing in the theatre, the sound design was great.

Pretty out there this one but was one of my favorites from last year if you can take the body horror stuff..

I liked the body showing before the body horror stuff.   ;)
To me it was good but not great.
Can't win em all.

Demi should have won best actress instead of Mikey Madison from Anora.

All Sean Baker's films are overrated except the 'shot-on-an-Iphone' Tangerine, and a short film he did 10 years ago called Snowbird available on Vimeo.

Anora was a pile... what did it win like 5 Oscars including best picture? Wasn't even the best movie I saw that week never mind all year.

Only thing I can figure is any sympathetic story about a hooker will win in Hollywood because you know... most everyone there is a prostitute to a degree.  :P
