well, I did break down to get gas at 10AM (it's only going to go up for the next month anyways...). had to grab some a/c parts, and the roads are packed, the crashes are plenty, the impatience is high, and the nuttiness has started:

well...now we've got sustained winds at 180mph. and sharknados have been sighted.

at least the islands will break it down, but man...those islands...

Yeah those poor islands.

I always had some romantic Hemingway thoughts of wanting to live on islands like Bimini or something but I'm not so sure these days.

Roads are crazy, no canned food left in the stores, lines at the gas stations, two hour wait to get propane.
I'm as prepared as I can be.
Good luck everyone.

Yeah, that current path doesn't look great for Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater, but it's definitely too early to tell yet.

If it hits Tampa Bay, major bad news.

If it doesn't hit but comes close it looks like it's going to happen around Sunday - so probably no day off work for that.

It's lose-lose.

edit: some of my co-workers are saying that Loews and Costco are ALREADY sold out of plywood, bottled water, etc.

I was gonna buy my regular weekly groceries on my lunch break later today, guess I'll see if there's anything left.

So at lunch I figured I'd go out to the Publix and pick up some water.. just in case.

Yeah, we're in full-on mad house mode already. Never seen people got this nutso so quickly. Publix was out of everything except Perrier.. at that point i figured I'll just get some Bud Lite theres only a 2% difference between that and water anyway.

We're full on crazy here.  Tractor Supply had propane and one of my Circle Ks still had gas.  Now to find water.  Publix is just a sea of senior citizens who don't seem terribly sure what they are looking for.

I can imagine.  My heart goes out to the older people, especially if they have no family or anyone else nearby.

Old people milling about pretty much summed up my Publix. It was like a zombie movie in there.

I had luck at 7-11 on Water.. they had the 1 Liter bottles for $1 each. Overpriced still definitely but better than nothing. I have a shelf full of water now and some pudding from the Dollar store.. and a bottle of Tequila. We'll be fine.

For those still looking, try the most out of the way Dollar General you know of.  I scored 24 packs for $2.50 each.  The truck was just offloading them.
