At one point last night Weather Underground was showing probable Cat 4 as north as St. Augustine.  Now it shows Cat 3 over all but the southern tip of Florida.

 Don't forget to walk around your house taking video, take video inside your house and record any high-value items for insurance now so that you can have an easy settlement later if it comes to that. If there's one thing that insurance companies Will do, it's tell you that everything had damage before the storm. So get good proof it will make your claim a lot faster

I hope it doesn't come to that, stay safe either way

10:00 update with max storm speeds really downplayed what rick scott and others have been saying for days:

"major storm, we're all in danger, evacuate while you can..." not good with people running out of gas in St Augustine / Gainseville on their way out of the state. and I can't imagine the trip back down.

hurricane force winds are 60 miles out from center. the rest of this 400 mile wide hurricane is the weather we can get on any given sunday.

now that I've said that, I still don't trust the news. so playing it hour by hour.

stay safe all. :)

edit: fee bad for the keys and our Miami/Homestead boys, they will get the brunt of this thing no matter how many times the track changes.

update from hamster: we be f**cked..

FYI... state is only 120miles wide... if hurricane force winds spread out 60 miles from center... and storm goes up the center of the state... doesn't mater where you are, you better be NOT IN THE STATE.
