and if I don't like it?

Regardless, if at all possible, play before you pay.  If you know a title you might like (NIB, old, whatever)-ask around.  There are several people that will let you try out the games so you can get a feel for the title.

If I keep this up I am going to earn myself a title as the wildest person for moving a pin. Not a ding or scratch, I am ridiculously lucky so far. I top the T2 pin move the very next day. 3 hour roundtrip to Clermont (what a bizarre area........HILLS IN FLORIDA!?!?!!?) with this setup.

Geriatric Engineering

Either one pin at a time or a U-Haul, no question next time. I can't be this lucky a 3rd time.

:P

Bob told me about that car, I couldn't believe it. 300lbs pressing down on such a compact car at that angle must make for some bizarre handling compared to normal. I'd love to see you moving a pin in that, just to see it done.

I am looking at trading my VW bug in soon, anyone have suggestions for an ideal small/slim vehicle for moving a single pin? Was hoping to avoid a truck as I don't haul anything else and wouldn't warrent the poor MPG, even in a diesel around town. Van I don't have enough people coming and going from my house to use day-to-day. Jetta sportswagen would have been perfect, if there'd been just a handful of inches to spare off the bottom. Looking for something similar to it, I think I remember reading about a guy talking about a Honda of some sort for pins, but can't find it on google again.

the crx has really toned my craving down. i had a ford F150, a jeep cherokee, and a dodge ram in the last 2 years...all failed (all high mileage with poor previous ownership), so decided to stick with a cheap car.

this little car kicks butt, it handles as well empty as it does with a pinball and 75 pounds of parts. wind resistance killed me on this pickup, though, but only 20 miles:

this trip was 200 miles. the classic bally/stern pinballs fit quite well in the crx:

YOU CAN DO IT!

honda element, plymouth cruiser, honda accord wagon, toyota cressida or corolla wagon, volvo wagon have all been confirmed as good pin haulers by board members.

Either I don't put enough faith in those standard straps or you guys are fearless.

Is there a certain amount of feet an object can stick out of a car before a cop can ticket you for it? I was worried when passing a few sheriffs on the way home with T2. When I see people throwing things together on standard trucks, rarely is there anything as heavy as a pin sticking way out the back, much less out a car.

my second pin move, i actually left the front legs on, hanging off the back of the truck. seemed to be easier for me, plus a short distance. after that one, though, i took the legs off every time, and pushed heavy parts towards the cab.
i hate to say it, but i enjoy the repair, the refurb, the chase and the negotiation more than owning the game. i do like this form of art, as it's not some lame picture hanging on the wall, but actual enjoyable art.

i've picked up heavier loads for closed business recycling, and i'd estimate @600 pounds worth of old IT equipment has been in the crx. i used to move plotters in the f150, 2 at a time. those are tricky loads, as they are top heavy and can't be laid down.

i don't think you would get ticketed by someone with more than 6 months on traffic patrol, but some cops are weenies, so it's possible. if you want to be legal, throw a red towel/flag on the end of it. sooner or later i'll buy 2 classic pins, so that pic will be nice (1 inside, 1 on roof). almost happened on a kissimee trip recently, but a farfalla seller flaked out.

pinfever and i hauled a huge and heavy midway loaded cabinet from orlando to boynton beach, 1/2 in a truck with topper, 1/2 sticking out over pavement. 1 strap to speak of. no tailgate. several board members saw it, bets were being placed on when and where it would fall off on i95. that wasn't my worse load, though. my worst mistake was a centipede and a tron standing up in a ford ranger. every overpass, i would get wind gusts that pushed my truck a lane over no matter what i did to prevent it. ;D i will never move a heavy ass atari arcade game standing up in a small truck again.

and as long as you take the head off, or lay it down, pins are pretty easy to move.

the right straps are priceless. mick can chime in, he's moved mountains of games as well in the bed of his truck. my f150 top load was a pacman, a classic pinball, a candy cabinet, and a taito cabinet. i love the challenge of the crx the most, though.

we've got nothing on the people who load up a 100 tires on p/u trucks down here in south florida. they're nuts.

I've hauled cars on trailers when all I had were the standard straps just kept making sure they were'nt stretching once in awhile
