gang  please unplug ur games.  power fluxuations are going to happen.  take the 5 or 10 mins to do it.  if its unplugged its way harder to get zapped.  even if u have a great surge protector or insurance.  less time to unplug than to deal with the headache.

thats actually a good point John. especially during lightning storms your surge protector is not going to do shit when your surrounding area gets struck by lightning and your ground becomes overwhelmingly negative and electrifies your game thru ground. turn your AC and fridge off after a power outage at the breaker, and anything else that has a compressor in yoyr home,  when the power gets turned back on there is really low line voltage for a Split Second as everything's coming up at once and the amp draw on these appliances Skyrocket with the lower voltage and as compressors start drawing, sometimes blows run/start caps.

Hate that the track keeps shifting south, living near Tampa I dislike hurricanes in the gulf (do not want it to go under S FL and then come up). Made sure my generator runs today and that I have plenty of beer

I sold my 13-year-old generator today for $600.  I couldn't get a bite at $325 a year ago.  The dude didn't even try to haggle.  The generator only had about a weeks worth of use.

I think I'm gonna need more beer.

With Irma about half the people I knew were without power for 48 hours or more. (never lost power myself). I'm set up to run on NG and can back-feed my panel (with appropriate interlock) and run my upstairs (1 ton) AC unit, fridge, gas stove, beer cooler and other impotant things.
